Lectorial – Pattern and colour as a visual cue.
I analysed the collection of patterns provided, articulating how they made you feel, what elements contributed to this response and what subject matter / organisation / or activity they could be used to represent.
I experimented with creating different patterns using different mark making techniques and then I applied the patterns I had created to my composition, using them as a background or to generate an emotive quality.
I created swatches using coloured pens and applied them to existing compositions.
(I think the colours look too bold/garish and I want to find a colour pallet for the overall brochure not just each spread.)
Preparation for next studio
- Experiment with a range of mock-ups incorporating different imagery, patterns, colours and mediums.
Mock-ups should be a quick sample rather than a completed solution.
Consider how these approaches could expand across the destinations / activities in a consistent yet differentiated way. - Document this stage of the process (blog component).
